우리가 사방으로 우겨 쌈을 당하여도 싸이지 아니하며, 답답한 일을 당하여도 낙심하지 아니하며, 핍박을 받아도 버린바 되지 아니하며, 거꾸러뜨림을 당하여도 망하지 아니하고, 우리가 항상 예수 죽인 것을 몸에 짊어짐은 (고린도 후 4:8-10)
주를 위하여, 진리를 위하여 현재 삶을 살아가면서 가장 큰 수치와 치욕과 시험과 박해를 즐겁게 인내하고, 주인이시며 본이 되시는 분의 경험과 매우 유사한 경험을 하는 사람들은, 우리가 확신하건데, 그러한 희생으로 나타난 그들의 충성에 비례해서 미래의 큰 상을 받을 것입니다; 사도가 “별마다 다른 영광이 있습니다”라고 말 한 것과 같습니다.
