185.  Praise The Lord

My soul, with humble fervor raise
To God the voice of grateful praise,
And all thy ransomed pow’rs combine,
To bless his attributes divine.

Deep on my heart let mem’ry trace
His acts of mercy and of grace,
Who with a Father’s tender care,
Saved me when sinking in despair.

He led my longing soul to prove
The joy of his forgiving love,
And when I did his grace request
He led my weary feet to rest.
